Troop Tier List: Infantry, Cavalry, Archers & Catapults
A role-based troop tier list for Prestige: Kingdom War. When to use Infantry, Cavalry, Archers, and Catapults — and why Cavalry and speed carry the early game.
Prestige: Kingdom War has just four troop types — Infantry, Cavalry, Archers, and Catapults — but knowing when to use each is the difference between farming forts and feeding the enemy. Here’s the honest tier list, by role rather than raw power.
Cavalry — the all-star (S tier)
The fastest unit and the strongest on defense, Cavalry also carries 100 resources per unit — the most in the game. That makes them your best hunters, your best raiders, and the unit you protect to haul loot home. Speed determines who strikes first (max 190), so a fast Cavalry army can hit and run almost untouched.
Catapults — the siege key (S tier, situational)
Highest attack power and range, and the only practical way to crack Forts and high-level Turrets. The catch: slow and expensive. You don’t spam them, you bring exactly enough — a level 1 fort needs roughly 215 Catapults, a level 10 fort closer to 19,830. Indispensable for sieging, dead weight for raiding.
Infantry — the cheap workhorse (A tier)
Cheapest and quickest to train, Infantry excel at clearing enemy Traps and make ideal meatshields in fort attacks (send one to absorb a round, buying your Catapults extra shots). Low carry capacity (80) means they’re for fighting, not looting.
Archers — the supporting fire (B tier)
Mid-range attackers, cheaper and faster than Catapults but less powerful. Great as a second meatshield layer and for adding ranged damage, but rarely the core of a serious army on their own. Carry 40.
The takeaway
- ▸Hunting / raiding: Cavalry first, always.
- ▸Sieging forts and turrets: Catapults, with Infantry + Archer meatshields.
- ▸Clearing traps: Infantry.
- ▸Invest in Speed (attribute + Marching tech + Horse gear) above almost everything.

Frequently Asked Questions
There is no single best troop — it is a rock-paper-scissors economy. Cavalry are the most versatile (fastest, strong defense, 100 carry) for hunting and raiding; Catapults are essential for sieging forts and turrets; Infantry clear traps and meatshield; Archers add ranged support.
