Why build order matters

Every upgrade competes for the same resources and build queue. Spend them in the wrong order and you bottleneck yourself — building troops you can’t feed, or production you can’t store. The right order compounds: each step makes the next one faster.

The build order

• ▸1. Main building / town hall first. It usually caps your population, which limits how much of everything else you can run. Keep it leveling constantly.
• ▸2. Storage next. Stops you bleeding resources to overflow every time you collect.
• ▸3. Food production. Scale it ahead of your army so you never risk starvation.
• ▸4. Balanced resource buildings. Keep wood, stone, and iron at similar levels for steady, usable income.
• ▸5. Barracks and military. Higher levels train troops faster — but only once your economy can sustain an army.
• ▸6. Technology / research. Permanent empire-wide bonuses that pay off over the whole game.
• ▸7. Walls and defense. Traps and turrets to make yourself an unappealing target.

Don’t rush military

The most common early mistake is rushing barracks and troops before the economy can support them. An army you can’t feed starves; an army you can’t replace dies once and ends your momentum. Build the economic base first — the military comes faster once it’s there.
